National Pie Day!

Happy National Pie day!

But beware the Al Pieda!

  1. A fuller pie post is in the works, but wanted to shoot this off before missing The Actual Day...

  2. "Pie has been around since the ancient Egyptians. The first pies were made by early Romans who may have learned about it through the Greeks. These pies were sometimes made in "reeds" which were used for the sole purpose of holding the filling and not for eating with the filling."

    Isn't there a contradiction here?

  3. Pies chart a slippery history, my friend; more than one scholar has gotten egg on his face while attempting to detangle the pie's crusty history.

I'm baking a following up article in which I'll dive head first into the pie.

    You'll read it hear soon...

  4. Ah, shut your pie hole you crusty old fruit! I'm panning this post.

Not really. It's just for the puns and idioms. :)
